How you would make an impact/key responsibilities: Join the dynamic MMSI team as a Marine Electronic Tech responsible for performing maintenance and repair for the Southeast Region Port Operations for the Navy. This position is located at the Naval Station Mayport, FL. Job responsibilities include but are not limited to: The Electronics Technician applies basic technical knowledge to perform simple or routine tasks following detailed instructions, performs such tasks as replacing components, wiring circuits, repairing simple electronic equipment; and taking test readings using common instruments such as digital multi-meters, signal generators, semiconductor testers, curve tracers, and oscilloscopes. This person works under close supervision receiving technical guidance from supervisor or higher-level technician. Work is check frequently for accuracy. Install, adjust, or maintain mobile electronics communication equipment, including sound, sonar, security, navigation, and surveillance systems on watercraft, or other mobile equipment. • Participates in the transport, staging, troubleshooting and repair of watercraft. • Assists in the repair or examines repair on installation orders, drawings, and vessels. Utilizing knowledge based on experience to determine extent of repairs required or modifications necessary for installation of equipment, accessories and hardware. • Consults with and assists Outboard/Diesel Mechanic regarding installation or repair problems, sequence of operations, and time required to complete repair or installation. • Positions and secures blocking at bottom and sides of vessels according to size, weight, and weight distribution of vessels, using fasteners, hand tools, and power tools. • Assists in the replacement or repairs of defective components, or fabricates new components as assigned. • Any other duties as required for the Contract performance. Qualifications: • Job experience as an Marine Electronic Technician.
